Topdrill’s 2025 Resources Industry Charity Sundowner: A Night of Generosity and Goldfields Spirit.

On Sunday 3 August, the heartbeat of the Goldfields was on full display as Topdrill hosted its fifth annual Resources Industry Charity Sundowner — a night that brought together community, industry, and purpose in one powerful celebration.

Held at our Topdrill HQ on the eve of Diggers & Dealers, the evening welcomed a spirited crowd of over 400 guests, uniting professionals from across the resources sector. But this wasn’t just another networking event — it was a moment to pause, connect, and give back to two incredible organisations that continue to support lives across our region: the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA (RFDS) and Full Circle Therapies.

From the first notes of live music by the talented Meggan Carswell, to the last wave of the auction paddle, the energy was electric. Guests enjoyed delicious canapés by Mi Scusi Catering, along with a generous dose of laughter, bidding rivalries, and meaningful conversations.

Our brilliant MCs — industry favourites Hedley Widdup and Abbey Cullen — brought warmth, wit, and charisma to the stage, guiding the evening with a perfect balance of heart and humour.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of attendees, sponsors, and our incredible local business community, we raised an outstanding $478,391.00. Every cent will go directly toward delivering vital services across the Goldfields and beyond:

  • RFDS WA will use the funds to continue providing life-saving aeromedical care to people living and working in remote parts of Western Australia.
  • Full Circle Therapies will further expand access to allied health services for local families, ensuring children in our region get the support they need to thrive.

Topdrill Managing Director Tim Topham shared his thoughts on the evening:

“What began as a small idea five years ago has grown into something truly special. This event is about more than fundraising — it’s about honouring the place we call home and the people who make it great. It’s a proud moment for our team and a reflection of our deep commitment to the Goldfields community.”

Since launching in 2020, the Resources Industry Charity Sundowner has raised over $1,450,000 — a testament to what’s possible when our industry comes together with generosity and heart.

To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, or helped bring this event to life — thank you. Your support fuels real impact.

We can’t wait to welcome you back next year. Until then, let’s keep the Goldfields spirit alive.
