Topdrill celebrates three wins at the 2026 KBCCI Goldfields Business Awards

We’re proud to celebrate a memorable evening at the 2026 KBCCI Goldfields Business Awards, taking home three awards, including the night’s highest honour, Goldfields Business of the Year.

We were also recognised in the Business with 21Plus Employees category, while our Founder and Managing Director, Tim Topham, received the Executive Professional award. Six other members of the Topdrill team were named finalists across a range of categories, making it an incredibly proud night for our people and our business.

Presented by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the awards recognise businesses and individuals whose contributions help strengthen the Goldfields and support the future of our region.

The recognition comes at a particularly meaningful time as we celebrate 20 years since Topdrill began in 2006. What started with a single drilling rig operating from a shed in Boulder has grown into one of Australia’s largest and most trusted exploration drilling companies, supporting major mining operations across the country with safe, reliable and efficient drilling solutions.

Today, we operate a fleet of 43 reverse circulation and diamond drilling rigs and employ more than 650 people across Western Australia and beyond. Over the past two decades, we’ve continued to invest in our people, our equipment and new technologies, while staying connected to the Goldfields community where our story began.

Tim said the awards reflected the contribution of every person across the business.

“We’re very proud of how far we’ve come and what we continue to deliver for our clients across Australia,” said Tim.
“This growth has been defined by our relentless commitment to innovation, customer outcomes and regional development.”

Over the years, we’ve grown from a single drilling operation into a diversified mining services group. Along the way, we’ve continued to invest in innovation, including AI-driven technologies and workforce development initiatives that help strengthen the future of our industry.

Our commitment extends well beyond the work we do on site. Over the past six years, we’ve helped raise more than $2 million for local charities, supporting causes that make a lasting difference in the communities where our people live and work.

While these awards are an important milestone, they are ultimately recognition of the people behind Topdrill. From crews working on remote projects across Australia to the teams supporting operations behind the scenes, this achievement belongs to everyone who has contributed to our journey.

"We would like to congratulate all nominees and award winners recognised on the night, and KBCCI for its passionate support of our great region," said Tim.

For us, the evening was about more than awards. It was a celebration of 20 years of hard work, resilience and growth, and a reminder of the incredible people, clients and communities who have been part of the Topdrill story along the way.
