Australia’s deepest Reverse Circulation (RC) hole – and we’re already pushing the limit further.
In a significant milestone for Australia’s exploration sector, Topdrill is proud to announce that we have successfully broken the record for the deepest RC (Reverse Circulation) drill hole in the country with a spectacular 870 metres at the Benz Mining Corp. Glenburgh Project in the Murchison region. Rig 1 (a Schramm T685) reached this milestone on 7 October 2025. In fact, having recently extended the depth to 876 metres, Topdrill is already advancing the benchmark even further.

At a time when exploration is about deeper targets, tighter timelines, and higher expectations, this accomplishment underscores Topdrill’s leadership in drilling services and capability in high-performance execution.
How we achieved it.
- Our Rig 1, equipped with the Schramm T685 platform, achieved the depth over just six shifts, delivering dry, high-quality samples across the full interval.
- Only one bit change was required—a tribute to our precision planning and resilient tooling. We utilised PCD bits supplied via Epiroc (via Schramm Powered by Epiroc Hammers & Bits) and Inloc® rods from Harlsan Pty Ltd—Australian-made, world-class components.
- The favourable ground conditions, combined with our team’s expertise and investment in best-in-class equipment allowed us to deliver a clean, continuous sample stream and drill advance that sets a new benchmark.
